Mega Shark! As far as b-movie titles go Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus is up there with the cheesiest of them! The movie caused a stir in the pants of many internet geeks a couple of months back when its trailer - featuring tasty images of a giant octopus tentacle swatting at a fighter jet and a mega shark chomping on the Golden Gate Bridge, as well as a lot of dodgy acting - surfaced just prior to its Region 1 release, and the good news is we won't have to wait too much longer for the battle of the gigantic sea beasties to arrive in Australia, with Peacock planning a local rental release for September 23.

Directed by Ace Hannah (now that's a kick arse pseudonym!) and staring Lorenzo Lamas and Deborah Gibson (aka pop singer Debbie Gibson, who also caused a stir in the pants of many back in the 80s), the movie focuses on two enormous prehistoric sea creatures, unleashed by a group of scientists working as part of an illegal military operation, as they battle for supremacy along the California coast.

Peacock's disc will come with "Mega-giant features" including the making of Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus and Bloopers.

Check out the cover art and trailer below. Seriously, how can the sight of the titular Mega Shark leaping from the ocean to ensnare a jumbo jet not excite you?

I really wanted to like this, and with a title like that, how could you go wrong?

But yeah, it's bad. Not so bad it's good bad, just... bad. And that scene on the cover? It's even crazier than you think.
